AirAsia is a Malaysian low-cost airline, headquartered near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is the largest airline in Malaysia by fleet size and destinations. AirAsia Group operates scheduled domestic and international flights to more than 165 destinations across 25 countries.

In the below chart, you can see the passenger numbers of AirAsia between the years 2008 and 2016 in millions. Their number of passengers has been increased through the years. It can be seen that there is a steady increase of pax year by year. Also, you can see the estimated passenger numbers for the year 2017, both linear and exponential forecasts.

To choose the appropriate estimation, sum of squared errors has been calculated. To estimate the best forecast, after using linear and exponential functions, the one which has lower SSE value fits the data better.
